JOB TITLE:  Part Time Human Resources Assistant                                                                       

 DEPARTMENT:  HUMAN RESOURCES

SALARY RANGE:  $15 (19.5 hours per week)                                                                      

 FLSA:  NON-EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Office Coordinator of Human Resources 

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Part-time/12 month position

 

Position Summary

The part time HR Assistant is responsible to assist with daily clerical and administrative functions necessary to the operation of the HR office, and will work under the supervision of the Office Coordinator of Human Resources.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Assist the Office Coordinator of Human Resources in daily operations as needed.
  • Serve as part time office receptionist, responsible for greeting prospective and current employees.
  • Perform various clerical duties, such as answering the telephone and routing calls as appropriate.
  • Assist with the hiring and onboarding process for employees.
  • Assist with processing and completing the Employee Verification Requests
  • Scan and maintain documents, and some filing.
  • Exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other team members with special projects.

 

Non-Essential Job Duties

  • Assist with incoming and outgoing mail and prepare bulk mailings.
  • Assist in preparing annual longevity awards.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • One year of customer service experience. 
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Two years of experience in office setting. 
  • Experience with Colleague.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: (The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.)

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.  Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel. *A successful candidate will have an opportunity for advancement to a full-time position when it comes available.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
