Department:  Academic Support (Table Rock Campus)

Salary Range:  $13.00 per hour                                                                 

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

 

Immediate Supervisor:  Coordinator of Academic Support-Table Rock Campus

Schedule Details:  Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)/Cannot be a current OTC student

 

Position Summary

The Part-time Proctor ensures the integrity of all exam processes in the TRC Testing Center, in accordance with OTC policies and procedures. The position interacts with test-takers, faculty, and staff, both internal and external. The Proctor will fulfill daily operations in the TRC Testing Center while actively collaborating with their TRC Academic Support team.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Ensure the integrity of all exam processes in the TRC Testing Center. This includes strict attention to exam security, check-in protocols, exam proctoring requirements, and appropriate exam delivery for all testing platforms. 
  • Obtain and maintain the required certifications for the testing platforms.
  • Act to establish and maintain a low-stress environment that promotes the confidence and success of test-takers.
  • Operate in accordance with OTC policies and proctor expectations and standards for external testing.
  • Communicate clearly and execute duties in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Maintain detailed records and contribute to efficacy of services.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Potential to identify, troubleshoot, and/or resolve basic computer hardware and software issues.
  • Utilize technology for professional productivity, especially Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Ability to comply with strict standards and operate successfully in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Competency in following written or oral instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. 
  • Work with a diverse and dynamic team.

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience working within a college or other academic setting.
  • Experience with proctored testing or in a testing center.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System, such as Blackboard or Canvas.
  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger/touch, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee must be able to move around and about their area, and operate a computer as needed.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
