JOB TITLE:  PART-TIME STUDENT SUCCESS SPECIALIST                                    DEPARTMENT:  TRC – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

SALARY RANGE:  $13.80 - $19.20 PER HOUR                                                        FLSA:  NON-EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Administrative Assistant to the Campus President – Table Rock Campus

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Part-time (Office hours will occur between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Flexibility to work any shift within these hours is required. Occasional evening and weekend work is also required. /Not to exceed 19.5 hours per week.   

 

Position Summary

The Part-Time Student Success Specialist performs necessary functions to help students successfully navigate college through academic, financial, and career planning. The position will help facilitate Student Success operations by creating a welcoming atmosphere within the Student Success Center, and supporting the work of other Student Success staff through additional efforts to provide academic and non-academic student support.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Deliver and receive documentation critical to student admission, financial aid, registration, and maintenance of student records.
  • Assist students by creating a welcoming atmosphere, assisting with scheduling, and fielding general student inquiries within the Student Success Department.
  • Assist in facilitating OTC’s college orientation experience for students.
  • Build relationships with students, faculty, and staff in support of Student Success initiatives.
  • Provide general information related to admissions, financial aid, registration and other student service areas.
  • Coordinate class presentations facilitated by College Navigators with academic departments and instructors.
  • Assist with facilitating workflow for the Student Success Center.
  • Assist with data management for Student Success Center.
  • Assist with referring students to various academic and non-academic student support mechanisms.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Help to ensure the success of the college by performing all other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer operations, and the ability to learn and adapt to new software and tracking tools.
  • Exceptional relational and customer service skills.
  • A desire and aptitude to improve systems and processes.
  • Outgoing and engaging personality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Previous experience in Student Affairs in higher education.
  • Previous experience tracking metrics and working with key performance measures.
  • Previous experience in maintaining schedules and working with scheduling software.
  • A demonstrated value of teamwork and collaboration.
