SALARY RANGE: $58,000-$63,000                                                                 FLSA:  EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  COLLEGE DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SUCCESS

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Full-time (Office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Flexibility to work any shift within these hours is required. Occasional evening and weekend work is also required.) /12-month employee/PSRS

 

This position requires travel to all OTC Centers weekly and is expected to work 2 days per week at the Waynesville Center, 2 days per week at the Lebanon Center, and 1 day per week at the Republic Center.

 

Position Summary

The Director of Student Success – OTC Centers is responsible for the oversight and operations of the Student Success Centers at the OTC Lebanon, Waynesville, and Republic Centers, including training, data analysis, and supervision of Admissions Counselors and College Navigators at the Centers. The Director will support college-wide student success initiatives leading to increased student enrollment, retention, and goal attainment through student-centered operations in their area. The Director is responsible for leading a team dedicated to proactively assisting students from application to graduation with career, financial, academic, and life planning, as well as tracking key performance metrics related to student success. The essential functions of this position require a physical presence onsite.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of Student Success teams at each OTC Center.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success leadership team to identify best practices and develop ongoing updates to processes for Student Success work across the college system.
  • Build relationships with campus and center administration, department chairs, and faculty to provide meaningful, accurate, and timely support to students.  
  • Evaluate Admissions Counselor and College Navigator progress at OTC Centers in meeting key performance metrics and provide coaching for underperforming employees.
  • Coordinate monthly priorities and data metrics for Admissions Counselors at each Student Success Center, including career exploration, FAFSA completion, orientation completion, and registration for classes.
  • Coordinate monthly priorities and data metrics for College Navigators at each Student Success Center, including long-term goal planning, financial planning, academic planning, and referral to academic and non-academic resources.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Waynesville and Fort Leonard Wood Education Centers to provide student onboarding, advising, enrollment support at Fort Leonard Wood.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Student Success training materials and technical assistance documents.
  • Work with the Coordinator of Student Affairs Training & Development to train and onboard new Student Success team members and coordinate ongoing professional development for the Student Success department.
  • Work 2 days per week at the Waynesville Center, 2 days per week at the Lebanon Center, and 1 day per week at the Republic Center.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Prior leadership and supervisory experience.
  • One year of experience in case management, advising, training, or relevant experience.
  • Prior experience using data to evaluate and make changes to operations.
  • Ability to switch between interpersonal skills and data management quickly and often.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Three years of leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Experience in student services including career exploration, financial aid, and academic planning.
  • Experience tracking metrics and working with key performance indicators.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
  • Experience with Colleague.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.  Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel. 

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
