SALARY RANGE:  BASED ON EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE                            FLSA:  EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Director of Paramedicine

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Full-time/11 month position/PSRS

 

Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the instruction and management of practicum experiences and specialty education pathways (e.g. CCP/FCP, NCCP, MIH/CP).  This position will maintain professional certification/licensure within their specialized field.  The Clinical Coordinator will supplement program faculty based on need each semester. This position is responsible for 9 credit hours per semester.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Schedule students for practicum rotations to meet the specific course and program objectives.
  • Evaluate student performance and progress in practicum settings and ensure documentation of the same.
  • Provide orientation to and guidance for course/program objectives for practicum instructors and preceptors.
  • Coordinate specialty education, continuing education, and student success programs
  • Provide quality instruction for current discipline standards using college approved curriculum and resources.
  • Develop a course syllabus for each class taught, using the approved course abstract and syllabus template.
  • Incorporate successful pedagogical teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
  • Foster a positive classroom learning environment and ensure compliance with section 508 accessibility.
  • Ensure that students have access to assistance outside of the classroom by compliance with the Health Sciences division policies.
  • Participate in required number of hours of professional development each year, 10 of which must focus on teaching improvement.
  • Participate in assessment of student learning including ongoing formative assessments, summative assessment, and official departmental assessment.
  • Actively participate in department and division meetings, events, and initiatives
  • Assist in textbook and course material selection.
  • Participate in curriculum development and work with advisory committees, as needed.
  • Be available to respond to clinical sites for student visits and/or emergencies to include nights and weekends
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Non-Essential Job Duties

  • Participate in professional organizations, as appropriate.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Current unrestricted Missouri Licensure as a paramedic
  • Demonstrate current knowledge in paramedicine instruction and effectiveness in teaching assigned subjects.
  • Five years of experience in emergency medical services with two years employed as a field paramedic.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (e.g. Microsoft 365, college approved LMS, etc.).
  • Able to obtain NAEMSE Instructor 1 certification within 1 year of employment

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience in teaching EMS or related courses at the post-secondary level.
  • Experience in a leadership role in an emergency services or educational organization.
  • Experience with Colleague.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
