JOB TITLE:  TESTING SERVICES SPECIALIST                                                             DEPARTMENT:  TESTING SERVICES

SALARY RANGE:  $31,200 - $36,000                                                                       FLSA:  NON-EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Coordinator of Testing Services

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Full-time (Must be able to work evenings and weekends)/12 month position/PEERS

 

Position Summary

The Testing Services Specialist ensures the integrity of test administration for all types of testing managed in Testing Services through adherence to National College Testing Association (NCTA) Standards and Guidelines. Other major responsibilities include fostering an environment of excellent customer service and supporting the work of other testing services staff. The essential functions of this position require a physical presence onsite.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Ensure the integrity of test administration and proctoring for all testing platforms utilized in Testing Services through adherence to NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all students, clients, faculty and staff who utilize services provided by Testing Services.
  • Assist with training of part-time proctors.
  • Assist students, clients, faculty, and staff when testing-related issues arise.
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications for all required testing platforms.  
  • Maintain a basic proficiency with all technology resources used for test administration and delivery.
  • Assist with accurate record keeping.
  • Assist in updating Testing Services website pages.
  • Demonstrate alignment with OTC Cares (student-centered, holistic, proactive, and data informed) and utilize that framework in day-to-day and long-term decision-making.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer operations and the ability to learn and adapt to new software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others.  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • One year of experience with exam proctoring. 
  • One year of experience working within a collegiate setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency IT and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Canvas (or similar Learning Management System), Colleague (or similar Student Information System), and/or WordPress (or similar Content Management System).

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.  Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel. 

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
