SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full-time/12-month position/PSRS  

 

Position Summary 

The Director of Student Recruitment and Onboarding is responsible for attracting and enrolling prospective students, ensuring a seamless and engaging onboarding experience, and fostering high impact relationships with community-based organizations and educational partners. The director leads and provides direction to team members charged with front-line service and support to prospective and current students, faculty and staff, and the general public. The director will implement best practices to drive student recruitment, coordinate a comprehensive new student orientation program, and deliver exceptional service throughout the student onboarding process. In collaboration with leadership and departments across the College, this role will support the development of a comprehensive recruitment and onboarding plan, including oversight of all on-campus and off-campus recruitment events and activities. The director should be a forward-thinking, data-informed, and collaborative professional with a passion for college access, community engagement, and student success.

 

Supervision Received and Exercised

  • Receives general supervision from the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
  • Supervises Director of Student Success – Admissions, Student Recruiters, and Campus Visit Coordinator.

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Develop and execute innovative strategies to attract and enroll prospective students, including adult learners, first-generation college students, high school students, and transfer and re-admits.
  • Plan and execute campus visit experiences, open houses, information sessions, college fairs, and other outreach activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current students, faculty and staff, visitors, and the general public who have questions or need guidance navigating college knowledge.
  • Track, analyze, and report recruitment and enrollment data to measure success and inform decision-making.
  • Represent Ozarks Tech at community functions, school visits, and college fairs to promote the institution and its programs. Responsible for coordinating event coverage by assigned team members, including evening and weekend functions.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing in assigned areas to provide adequate support and assistance to visitors, scheduled appointments, and incoming phone, text, chat, and email communications, including a high-volume college-wide call center. 
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of the New Student Orientation program, both face-to-face and online.
  • Utilizing the college’s customer relationship management software (CRM), collaborate with the CRM team and Marketing to create a comprehensive communication plan for prospects, inquiries, applicants, admitted, and enrolled students. Train and supervise staff in CRM work and responsibilities.
  • In collaboration with staff, supervise, train, and coordinate activities for the Student Ambassador Program. Design group and individual tour routes, talking points, and overall assessment of student tour guides.
  • Work closely with other members of the Student Services team (Student Success Representatives, Admissions Counselors, College Navigators, Registrar, Financial Aid, and upper-level Student Affairs administration to establish recruitment goals, benchmarks, and strategies.

 

Other Important Functions

  • Assist in the promotion, planning, and coordination of activities and events sponsored by Student Services and Enrollment Management.
  • Participate in various college committees and other institutional activities.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Three to four (3–4) years of progressively responsible experience in student services or enrollment management
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, including oversight of front-line customer service teams
  • Experience supporting new student recruitment, student onboarding, or new student orientation
  • Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and institutional guidelines and compliance standards
  • Proven ability to implement change and improve processes within a team or department
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field
  • Five to seven (5–7) years of professional experience in a community college or similar higher education setting
  • Direct experience designing and implementing student recruitment strategies and new student orientation programs
  • Experience leading change management initiatives and bringing a strategic vision to implementation
  • Supervisory experience across multi-functional student service areas
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, student information systems, and data-informed decision making
