Position Summary 

The Recruiter is a key ambassador for Ozarks Tech, responsible for assisting with the development and execution of recruitment strategies to attract and enroll traditional and non-traditional prospective students. This position is all about building relationships—whether you're visiting high schools, attending college fairs, engaging with local communities, or welcoming students during on-campus visits, you’ll be the face of Ozarks Tech.

 

You'll collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to bring our academic programs, student success services, and campus life to prospective students, school counselors, and community partners. Whether you’re speaking one-on-one with a student unsure of their next step or presenting to a room full of future learners, your enthusiasm and ability to make genuine connections will be key. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, a desire to help others, and an ability to connect with people. Essential Job Functions 

  • Represent the college at schools, fairs, and community events to promote enrollment.
  • Deliver presentations (in-person and virtual) that showcase Ozarks Tech’s programs, services, and student opportunities.
  • Guide prospective students through every stage of the admissions process—from first inquiry to orientation—offering encouragement and support along the way.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and school counselors and community partners to build trust and interest in Ozarks Tech.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned prospective students through the admissions funnel ensuring consistent communication and personalized guidance.
  • Plan and execute on-campus and virtual recruitment events.
  • Support orientation and registration events for applicants during peak enrollment periods.
  • Leverage the college CRM to track prospective student engagement, analyze trends and create targeted communication campaigns.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure prospective students receive timely, accurate, and relevant information.
  • Promote the college’s mission, values, and brand consistently in all outreach efforts.
  • Meet recruitment goals and identify areas for growth within assigned territories.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Associate degree or the equivalent of 60 college credit hours from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.  
  • One year of customer service experience. 
  • Exceptional organizational and relational skills. 
  • An outgoing, energetic, and approachable personality.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via email, phone, video chat, text messaging, or in a public speaking setting. 
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision. 
  • Ability to work as a team player 
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer operations, and the ability to learn and adapt to new software and tracking tools. 
  • Valid Missouri driver’s license and dependable vehicle for travel
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, which will include evenings, weekends, and overnight stays during recruiting season
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.   

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. 
  • Graduate of Ozarks Technical Community College. 
  • Experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with academic, financial aid, or career planning. 
  • A demonstrated value of teamwork and collaboration. 
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting. 
  • Experience with TargetX.
