Salary Range: $17.00 per hour                                                                                  

 

Immediate Supervisor: Customer Service & Marketing Manager

Schedule Details: Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours weekly). Ability to work 15 – 19.5 hours weekly between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

 

Position Summary

The Part-Time Warehouse Clerk supports the Warehouse Supervisor in maintaining efficient warehouse operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe environment. This role involves assisting with inventory management, order fulfillment, and customer service tasks while adhering to college policies and procedures. The clerk works under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor to facilitate smooth day-to-day operations in a college warehouse setting.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assist in keeping the warehouse and stockroom clean, organized, and safe by performing tasks such as tidying storage areas and supporting basic maintenance efforts.
  • Aid in inventory control and stock replenishment by monitoring stock levels, reporting shortages to the supervisor, and assisting with restocking as needed.
  • Help with the accurate receiving, pricing, labeling, and storing of textbooks, merchandise, and equipment according to established systems.
  • Assist in processing online orders for timely shipping or campus pickup, ensuring items are prepared and packaged correctly.
  • Support the assembly of course supplies and kits as directed by the Course Materials Manager and help monitor textbook titles for return potential and track non-returnable items.
  • Assist in preparing for and conducting term-end and year-end physical inventory counts, including tagging storage and display areas and ensuring equipment is ready.
  • Provide excellent customer service during peak periods, assisting with inquiries or stock access as needed.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures in all job-related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor, which may include occasional support at college functions or events.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and equipment (e.g., textbooks, supplies) as part of daily tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including standing for extended periods and navigating storage areas.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate stock and records.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with warehouse staff, supervisors, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the warehouse team.

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting

 

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  This position may require considerable physical activity, including handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger/touch, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee must be able to move around and about their area, and operate a computer as needed.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.  This position may require a practical skills test at the time of interview.
