IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: College Director of the Bookstore and Auxiliary Services
SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full-time (Monday – Friday)/12-month position
Position Summary
The Hardee’s Manager is accountable for all restaurant operations and for ensuring team members are hospitality-focused, people-focused, and performing to expectations in every area of their job. You will recruit, develop, and lead staff, drive sales and profitability, execute marketing and events opportunities with campus partners, and maintain Hardee’s legendary standards while accommodating the needs of the college.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, teaching, instructing, and leading team members, as well as coordinating training activities on a regular basis.
- Ensure that all labor is scheduled, shifts posted, followed, and maintained to meet budgetary goals.
- Assure implementation of sanitation and food safety procedures, maintain equipment while enacting all safety protocols, and ensure compliance with local health department regulations and inspections.
- Ensure the ServSafe certification/program is followed.
- Build training processes and materials for all employees in the areas of food production, service, sanitation, and point-of-sale software.
- Ensure adherence to menu recipes while understanding the requirements of production and service needed for each recipe.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all food components, drinks, retail items, catering supplies and equipment.
- Maintain positive financial standing with vendors by processing invoices for payment in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure that accurate food cost, waste, and labor accounting procedures are followed and maintained.
- Handle customer concerns with urgency and professionalism.
- Collaborate with college departments to maximize traffic and revenue, facilitating programs and activities in support of student success; including meal plans, Eagle Breakfast, and student union events.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Grounds to ensure equipment or cleaning related needs are met.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees, and attending community events.
Non-Essential Job Duties
- Recommend and award deserving employees for outstanding performance with special recognition.
- Ensure open communication with staff and college partners by periodically reviewing campus objectives, procedures, and personnel policies.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of restaurant management experience (QSR or fast-casual strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Greene County health codes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, while maintaining quality and service.
- Ability to accurately document and maintain appropriate records, logs, and reports.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work effectively and courteously with staff, students, and the general public.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in food management or related field.
- 1–2 years in a General Manager or Assistant General Manager role with proven P&L results.
- ServSafe certification, CPR and First Aid training.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working in a collegiate setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: (The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.)
Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. This position does require the ability to lift to 40 lbs.
