SALARY RANGE:  Level IV, $100,000-138,000                                            FLSA: EXEMPT

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs/Provost

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Full-time/12 month position/PSRS

 

Position Summary

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is responsible to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs/Provost in assisting with operations in all academic areas of the college. 

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and management in support of the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Provide administrative oversight of the daily operations of Academic Support functions.
  • Assist the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs with implementing continuous quality improvement initiatives for the academic areas of the college.
  • Represent the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs when they are unavailable.
  • Facilitate the development of aligned processes for Academic Support for all Ozarks Tech locations.
  • Serve as the Transfer and Articulation Officer for the college providing oversight of transfer related topics and articulation agreements with outside colleges and universities.
  • Oversee correspondence management for the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Provide leadership for special projects as assigned by the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
  • Function as the college’s Academic Ombudsman.  
  • Oversee the academic appeal process.
  • Oversee adjunct and full-time instructor course assignments and compensation.
  • Provide resources and information to faculty, staff and other individuals served by the college.  
  • Establish and publish semester final examination schedules.
  • Ensure the goals, priorities, and activities of areas of oversight are aligned with OTC Cares (student-centered, holistic, proactive, and data-informed) and that this framework is utilized in day-to-day and long-term decision-making.
  • Exhibit professionalism and exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Five years of administrative or management experience in higher education, including supervision of personnel or programs.
  • Three years of full-time or adjunct teaching in higher education.
  • Understanding of student management system programs.
  • Data analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal education departments and requirements related to higher education.   
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.  
  • Seven years of administrative or management experience in higher education, including supervision of personnel or programs.
  • Five years of full-time or adjunct teaching in higher education.
  • Experience with Colleague.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: (The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.)

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.  Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel. 

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
