SALARY RANGE: $35,000 - $40,000 FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Assistant Director of the Bookstore & Auxiliary Services
SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full-time/12 month position/PEERS
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the warehouse and stockroom operations of the Bookstore and maintaining the accurate receiving and pricing of inventory. Other major responsibilities include ensuring the fulfillment of online orders and assisting the Course Materials Manager with physical materials.
Essential Job Duties
- Oversee warehouse and stockroom operations, ensuring a well-organized, clean, safe, and attractive environment through proper maintenance, repairs, inventory control, stock replenishment, and exceptional customer service during peak periods.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to establish and maintain efficient systems for accurate receiving, pricing, posting invoices, labeling, storage, and access of textbooks, merchandise, and equipment.
- Supervise, train, and coach warehouse staff, including overseeing the retrieval of incoming shipments (textbooks, supplies, and merchandise) from campus receiving and the transportation of outgoing shipments for daily pickup.
- Oversee the management of online order fulfillment, ensuring timely processing for ship-to-home and campus pickup, and maintaining the availability of all textbooks and required supplies through the online ordering system.
- Assist the Course Materials Manager by coordinating the assembly of course supplies and kits, monitoring titles for return potential, obtaining return authorizations, tracking non-returnable titles, replenishing physical textbook stock, and providing support for any other areas of physical course materials as needed.
- Facilitate term-end and year-end physical inventory counts, ensuring storage and display areas are clearly tagged, equipment is tested and ready, and all necessary preparations are completed.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.
Non-Essential Job Duties
- Research national trends for collegiate bookstores and analyze inventory status as needed.
- Assist with retail accounting activities as needed in conjunction with the Finance Department.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to carry up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Two years of experience in retail/inventory management.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Associate degree in business administration, education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- Experience supervising retail operations on a two-year or four-year college campus.
- Experience with point-of-sales systems.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working within a collegiate setting.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
