SCHEDULE DETAILS: Full-time/12-month position/PEERS
Position Summary
The Training & Development Coordinator works closely with departmental administration, faculty, and staff to develop, promote, coordinate, and deliver professional development opportunities. Primary responsibilities include creation & delivery of professional development opportunities; support of the development, implementation, delivery, and assessment of professional development initiatives and projects; and the coordination of professional development programming, events, and services.
Essential Job Duties
- Ensure total confidentiality and professionalism in relation to all HR related information and activities.
- Promote a positive culture for professional development programming, support and services.
- Design, implement, and deliver various training and development programming, both for individual employees and groups, to address skill gaps, improve performance, and promote professional growth.
- Guide and support others in the creation of professional development opportunities and resources.
- Coordinate the development, scheduling, setup, delivery, tracking, and assessment of physical and virtual professional development events, programming, and required employee training.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate, up-to-date professional development and required training-related records including completion or attendance as specified.
- Assist with orientation and onboarding activities for new employees.
- Collaborate with the executive director and others across the college to assist with the design, development, promotion, coordination, and facilitation of professional development opportunities and special projects as requested.
- Provide administrative assistance to the executive director as requested.
- Make visits to OTC locations as requested. Travel occasionally and perform duties outside of normal business hours, on weekends, and during college closures as needed.
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe, professional manner and with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
- Experience developing and delivering training programs or courses, preferably at a college level.
- Strong analytical and research skills to research topics, manage data, write reports, edit, proofread, and prepare presentations.
- Ability to work well independently and as a team with diverse stakeholders.
- Able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, pay attention to detail, learn new technologies, and manage sensitive information and conversations with tact and diplomacy.
- Manage multiple projects, be dependable, and meet deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology (such as Microsoft Office Suite) for professional productivity, project planning, and to map processes.
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning, preferably in a business or education related field.
- One year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, including teaching online, or comparable experience with employee training in an organizational setting.
- Experience with event coordination and planning.
- Experience with instructional design strategies and andragogical methods.
- Experience with marketing, graphic design, website development, and communication methods such as digital newsletters and social media.
- Experience working with virtual collaborative technologies and video software (such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, Scribe, Canva, and generative artificial intelligence).
- One year of experience working with an online learning management system (such as Canvas).
- Two years of academic-related experience working in a higher education institution with frequent interaction with staff, students and faculty to research and resolve issues.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working within a collegiate setting.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
