JOB TITLE:  Part-Time OSHA Community Safety Trainer/Spanish                 

DEPARTMENT: Workforce & Short-Term Training (WST)

SALARY RANGE: Based on Education and Experience                      

FLSA: Non-Exempt

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: WST Program Manager

SCHEDULE DETAILS: Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)

 

Position Summary

OSHA Community Safety Trainer is responsible for the oversight of all WST Open Enrollment OSHA Training for Spanish speaking students.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Work with program manager to schedule all OSHA/Spanish program classes.
  • Instruct OSHA/Spanish programs.
  • Develop and maintain the curriculum for all OSHA/Spanish training programs both existing and planned and new programs.
  • Order all supplies and materials for all assigned classes and programs.
  • Maintain all appropriate records for the OSHA/Spanish programs as required.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Fluent in speaking, reading and understanding Spanish and English.
  • Certified OSHA Instructor or the ability to become certified within 3 months of hire
  • Demonstrate instructional skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA Standards and Regulations
  • Must be a Certified Fork Truck Operator or could obtain a Fork Truck Operator Certification
  • Demonstrate computer skills including Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree obtained from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
  • Teaching experience in the career and technical education field
  • Experience with Colleague
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting
