Job Title:  Part-Time Backflow Testing Proctor 

Department:  Workforce & Short-term Training

Salary Range:  Hourly                                                                    

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor:  Program Manager

Schedule Details:  Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)

 

Position Summary

The Backflow Testing Proctor assists staff in ensuring the integrity of all exam processes in backflow testing, including adherence to ASSE testing standards. The position interacts primarily with test takers.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Work with department staff to ensure the integrity of all exam processes.
  • Administer hands-on certification tests in backflow wet lab.
  •  Administer knowledge tests in computer lab.
  • Obtain and maintain the required certifications for ASSE testing.
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner and in accordance with OTC policies and department proctor expectations.
  • Act to establish and maintain a low-stress environment that promotes test taker’s confidence and success.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in plumbing or a related field
  • Authorized ASSE Backflow Proctor (or the ability to achieve authorized status)
  • Must be able to work with a co-facilitator.
  • Above-average communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Teaching experience in the career and technical education field.
  • Ten years of employment experience in the industry or a related field.
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
